
RIK LANDER
Rik is a director, producer and copy writer across multiple platforms like TV, web, live events and social media. Credits include TV commercials for Low Cost Holidays, EDF Energy and Playstation, and interactive ads for E! Entertainment and HP. He's also made TV series from The Word to the Turner Prize, the BBC's first interactive soap and a No1 music video. Rik also engages in funded research into new digital formats such as 'pervasive dramas' where the audience are characters and the story emerges around the city across multiple mediaPERVASIVE drama / Interactive media
• In 2011 Rik formed Its A Touch Thing along with Tim Kindberg of Matter2Media. They have been funded by the Technology Strategy Board to research the economic and technical feasibility of providing a service for the creative industries to use 'touch technologies.' They recently created a swipe card system for a launch event for the new Ford Focus so that visitors could post comments on their Facebook page with the swipe of a card.• The airline BMI had introduced a new mobile site and wanted a "how to…" video. Rik created an interactive video using YouTube annotations. Production company: Branded.
• The Memory Dealer, was Rik's major creative project of 2010. It is a 'pervasive drama' - part game, part theatre, part out of body experience that takes place in the streets of Nottingham. There are plans to develop the piece further.
• The arrival of interactive commercials opens up a new world of personalised brand experiences. Two examples are You Are The Star for HP laptops and E! Entertainment Live From the Red Carpet both directed by Rik.
• Rik made one of the UK's first web dramas, magic-tree, in 2001.
• He was the showrunner on Wannabes, the BBC's first interactive soap from 2006.
• He has made interactive internal communications for Microsoft and Unilever.
• He edits Vonviral, a website dedicated to web drama and transmedia advertising.

Rik has been interactive since the mid 90's and it's too late to stop now. He's a sometime resident at the Pervasive Media Studio, Bristol, where he is researching cross-platform advertising and storytelling formats.
Rik has worked across multiple platforms as a writer, director and producer. His skillset includes:
• Devising media to client brief
• Writing text and shooting video content for online
• Creating flow-diagrams and wire-frames for complex interactive projects.
